The recent enactment of Law 15.068/24, regulated by Decree 12.784/25 of December 19, 2025, marks a significant advance in the recognition and promotion of the Solidarity Economy in Brazil. By including EES – Solidarity Economy Enterprises – as a new type of private legal entity in the Civil Code (Article 44, VII, § 2), the legislator conferred upon them a distinct legal status, separate from traditional cooperatives and associations.
